Generic Theater (GT) has been reading plays for the public for many years, starting at the old Stroudwater Bookstore, then the Kittery Rice Library, then the Portsmouth Public Library and finally finding a home at The Players' Ring.
GT will be reading new plays that were submitted to The Players' Ring by local playwrights, as well as plays that may strike their fancy. One of the main goals is to find a play for GT to produce for the next season, which compliements the mission of the Players' Ring to give local playwrights the opprotunity to hear their plays come to life and get feedback from the audience as well as the performers.
All readings are free. However, donation are welcome to defray cost of copying scripts, etc.
